2023 Estate Pinot Noir
The typicity of our Estate Vineyard terroir shines through in this vintage. Dark ruby-red in color, the wine opens with ripe cherry and plum, layered with wild herbs, dried flowers, spice, and black tea. On the palate, sweet dark cherry unfolds across a bright, expansive texture, with seamlessly integrated acidity and structured tannins. The finish is medium-long and beautifully balanced.
The 2023 growing season was ideal, with a warm September that led to a beautifully ripe vintage. Our Biodynamic farming practices, in place since 2008, continue to deepen the health of our vines and the expression of our unique Estate Vineyard terroir.
Summer was warm and uneventful, with minimal disease pressure. Clusters were slightly larger, and we carefully thinned to one cluster per shoot, harvesting each block at optimal maturity based on acidity, lignification, and seed development.
In the cellar, fermentation included 3–6 day cold soaks, spontaneous native-yeast fermentation, twice-daily pump-overs, and gentle cap-only punch-downs. The final blend includes approximately 10% whole cluster, with mostly free-run barrels following racking off the lees. The wine was aged 16 months in French oak barrels.
A beautiful expression of Estate-grown Pinot Noir—ripe, vibrant, and distinctly shaped by its place.
