2021 Pinot Noir, PRIMA

A wine for the ages. Only our 7^th vintage of our top Pinot noir - only crafted in vintages we declare exceptional! The blend consisted of five of our finest and most destinctive barrels (out of 220 in our cellar) to reveal a complex expression & interpretation of our Estate vineyard’s unique terroir.

TASTING NOTES:
Dark ruby red, opens with notes of ripe cherries and cranberries, violets, truffles, and baking spices. There is a presence of new oak with smoke and tar, yet it is nicely enveloped by the mouthcoating and layered fruit that is at once broad and expansive while precise and structured. Pure delight on the palate with nice layers, a bit of savory and long finish. Should develop with a couple years of age.

Reminiscent of 2012 and 2014 vintages. A Yields per block averaged 1.9 tons/acre.  - one barrel of Dijon clone 115, one of clone 114, one Waidenswil and finally, one from Block 1 Pommard clone. This ‘reserve’ bottling is a dedication to our family’s heritage as distinguished by the abbreviated crest on the front label. The name PRIMA means ‘FIRST’ among other adjectives such as ‘BEST, TOP, FOREMOST & PRIME’. Our family presents this wine as one of the ‘first’ in a tradition of many exceptional & distinctive wines leading the way for generations to come. May you enjoy this wine for the ages!
