2020 Muscat Canelli, Coure d'Oro, Chehalem Mtns 375ml

A dessert-style wine crafted by using Muscat Canelli grapes from an eight row block at our Estate Vineyard. The grapes are picked when we feel the berries are at their optimal ripest physiological state (‘taste’ is just right with sweet, high-octane natural sugars) and hand sort to ensure only the most mature berries will be pressed for succulent juice and frozen solid. As we begin unfreezing the mass, the intensely sweet juice (nearly 40 Brix) melts first leaving the water behind. As the melting continues and we taste to our desired point of sweetness; the concentrate combined finishes around 17 Brix. We then inoculate the juice which ferments and is aged in stainless steel. Wonderfully aromatic, velvety rich and smooth, this wine will reveal even more oxidative nut flavors over time – truly a remarkable wine that displays finesse on the mid-palate. Enjoy with some Blue or robust cheese, panna cotta, summer peach cobbler or biscotti.   

The 2014 growing season was short and warmer than normal, with lower rainfall and virtually no disease pressure. This wine showcases the warm growing season with an excess of fruit character.
