Classic & bold Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon! We invite you to discover why we named this wine ‘The Beast’. Arguably from one of Washington’s top vineyards blended with old vines of Cabernet Franc for complexity and balance. We think the 2018 vintage offers a hedonistic opulence, good acidity and fine tannins which complement the voluptuous fruit profile. The backbone with Clone 8, is pure Red Mountain offering structure, bold flavors and generous tannins. Our blocks were among the last picked in each vineyard. Aged in French & American oak barrel for 22 months, our patience was rewarded with an extracted, high-octane red that has substance to go the distance!
TASTING NOTES: Dark, fragrant and spectacularly rich, it initially bursts with layers of blackberry, plum and dark chocolate. Ultimately opens to reveal a more nuanced bouquet of a violets and cassis combined with layers of tea leaf, tobacco star anise and spice box. The wine has an amazing texture and depth while maintaining great purity and focus. Beautifully proportioned, it reveals concentrated fruit and sensational structure. It deftly straddles the line of providing near term pleasure; yet has nicely integrated fresh acids and high tannins to reward patience. Age 2 – 15+ years.
